In the inner area of Gyömrő, a castle of about 660 m² in need of complete renovation is for sale in a 2.1-hectare ancient wooded park. The building once functioned as a retirement home. 13 + 3 rooms, as well as additional rooms, sanitary blocks, kitchen, bathroom, and other rooms can be found in the 2-storey building.
The castle opposite the Country House was a noble villa, which is interesting not because of its architectural style or monuments, but because of the people who lived here. There used to be a small manor house in the "main corner" part of the old village, on Pesti Road. This house was inhabited by Imre Kostyán (1750) as a pledge from the Fáy family. The manor house was bought back from the descendants of the Kostyán family as an inheritance of the Puky family. László Puky (1755-1802) and his son Károly, the writer, lived in this house. In the age of the Teleki family, there was a flourishing social and cultural life in Gyömrő. Famous personalities lived here or visited here. Mihály Csokonai Vitéz was a guest of István Puky, a landowner from Gyömrő, several times, with whom he had friendly ties. It was inherited from the Puky family to the Szilassy family. János Szilassy (1822-1890) may have built the mansion that can still be seen today on the site of the old manor house. The Samarjay Villa, built at the turn of the century, stands on the site where the XVIII-XIX. centuries it was the manor house of the Puky family. The castle was bought in 1914 by the Transylvanian knight Károly Bakó and lived in it until his death. Later it was owned by Baron Petricsevics Emil Horváth. After the liberation, the relatively intact mansion was bought by the Israelite denomination and converted into a children's home. In 1952, it was converted into a nursing home for their elders. The institution was denominational. His strictly bound rites did not allow him to receive anyone. The furnishings of the home designed for 60 people were initially simple, hospital-like. At that time, those referred could also take their furniture with them. Most of them were accommodated here instead of their apartments. Elderly people received medical care twice a week; library, radio, TV, and various board games occupied their time.
In the arboretum-like park full of ancient trees connected to the castle building, there are special plants, such as a 300-year-old swamp cypress, swamp alder and other plant rarities. The area belonging to the castle is located under 2 topographical numbers, which belong to 2 different local building classifications. One of the areas, which is 1.14 hectares, is a special construction zone of Ko and Ksz-1, with a maximum build-up capacity of 30%, on plots of at least 1400 m², buildings with a maximum height of 7.5 meters can be built in the event of a division. The other area, which is 0.97 hectares and is classified as Vt-1, here 8.5-meter-high buildings can be built on plots of at least 1000 m² with 60% buildability.
